If you’ve been reading my PLR essentials series, then you’ll probably have found quite a few ways to make best …

If you’ve been reading my PLR essentials series, then you’ll probably have found quite a few ways to make best use of PLR by now! But before I finish, I wanted to mention some things not to do with PLR, too. Here are 5 PLR mistakes to avoid.

1) Not Customizing The PLR

I have already given you a number of tips about rewriting your PLR – and rewriting doesn’t mean you have to change everything. But one mistake you don’t want to make is to leave everything as it is. Although you can publish PLR as-is, and you can see success with it, it will help you stand miles above the competition if you do customize the content in some way.

2) Sacrificing PLR Quality For A Low Price

Everybody wants to save money where they can, but you have to be careful when it comes to PLR. Although those packs of thousands of PLR articles that you see selling for a few dollars may seem like a good deal, the truth is that the articles are often poorly researched, are barely usable, and have already been used by hundreds of other marketers before you. It’s not a good deal if you can’t use it! That’s why it’s worth paying more upfront for higher quality content.

3) Not Making The Most Of PLR

You may use your PLR content in one place, such as on your blog, and think that’s enough. Although it’s still a good way to use it, why not use it as much as possible to maximise your profits? Consider reworking it into videos, reports, audio and so on. There are so many uses for just one PLR pack!

4) Not Understanding The Rights You Get With Your PLR

You absolutely must understand the rights you are given when buying any kind of PLR. Although most sellers are flexible, there are some cases where you just cannot use it. Do you really want to risk your site being shut down because you’re breaking the rules?

5) Not Using PLR At All!

This mistake is the biggest of them all! How many of us are guilty of buying PLR and never using it? I know I am! Have a plan in place before you buy PLR so that you know you’re going to put it to use and earn some money!

PLR has many different uses, and reworking it in different ways can help you make the very most of your …

PLR has many different uses, and reworking it in different ways can help you make the very most of your PLR content. This doesn’t necessarily mean spending hours rewriting it! You can keep it as simple as you like. Even the most minor changes are going to boost your chances of success.

Here are five ways you to customize your PLR to make it unique to you and your needs.

1) Add Examples

You may have purchased a PLR in a specific niche that you want to edit a little for your targeted audience. For example, you may run a niche site on losing weight for people with a physical disability. Your general weight loss PLR may still be useful, but you’ll want to add in specific examples and anecdotes for your audience. This will help them relate to the content better, and it’ll make it completely unique to you.

2) Rearrange

This is an easy and effective way to make your PLR unique (in the sense that the search engines won’t have seen it before, and neither will your customers). Simply rearrange the order of the information in the PLR article, or even cut bits out and add in PLR content from another article. This doesn’t usually take too long, but is an effective way to create an article that looks completely new.

3) Include Your “Voice”

If you’ve got loyal readers then you’ll want to make sure that any PLR you use includes your own unique “voice”. All writers have a certain style, so by quickly rewriting your PLR you can make sure that style is consistent throughout your content. Don’t include words you wouldn’t normally use, add in jokes or anything else you’d normally do if you were writing the content from scratch.

4) Use The PLR In New Formats

You don’t need to use PLR in the way it was presented to you. If you’ve bought a pack of articles, instead of posting them as articles on your blog, why not put them into a video course instead? Or you could read the articles aloud and create a regular podcast. This is the perfect way of creating content that’s fresh and unique, and there really are no limits to the way you can reformat PLR in this way.

PLR is a generic term for articles that you can use as your own. You’ll find that the “PLR” label …

PLR is a generic term for articles that you can use as your own. You’ll find that the “PLR” label can actually mean different things depending on the terms of the individual seller, so it’s important that you know what the rights are before you use the content.

PLR sellers will usually have a page where they list their rights. This could be a specific “terms” page, it could be found on the FAQ, or even on the “about” page. If you can’t find them, email the PLR seller for clarification before you buy.

There are several main categories of rights:

Private Label Rights

Although the term “PLR” is commonly used to describe a wide range of content, in its strictest sense, private label rights means that you have the right to change the content, add your name as the author, and resell it for profit. However, there are limitations. Although different sellers may have different requirements, you’ll almost always find that you cannot sell on PLR rights to other customers.

Unrestricted Private Label Rights

This is the type of private label rights product that you CAN sell on to others, and they generally cost more. As the name suggests, it really is unrestricted, meaning you can do everything you’d do with standard PLR rights, as well as passing those rights onto your customers either by selling the articles or giving them away (it may depend on the individual terms set by the PLR seller).

Resale Rights

On top of getting private label rights for your PLR, you can also buy products with resale rights. What this means is that you CAN sell on the product for profit, but you cannot edit the content, change things around and claim authorship yourself. And you cannot pass on these rights to the people you sell it to.

Master Resale Rights

Some sellers may give you master resale rights to the product, in which case you CAN pass on the resale rights to the people you sell the product onto! But, depending on the license, you may not be able to make changes to the content before you do.

How Do You Know What You’re Buying?

There is a lot of different terminology up there, and it can get confusing when you’re shopping for content and PLR! Private label rights sellers will usually do their best to help you by putting together license files. These will usually stipulate exactly what can and cannot be done with the content.

All kinds of usage rights have a number of different benefits. If you’re looking for content to create informational products or to fill up your website, then you’ll find that standard PLR – private label rights – usually fits the bill. And remember, if in doubt about how you can use the content, contact the author of the content and they’ll be happy to tell you what your rights are. This helps you to avoid any tricky gray areas regarding copyright!

Last week I wrote about what to look for in PLR, and now I want to write about how you can find it! Of course, if you’re reading this at Net PLR then you already have one source of PLR at your fingertips But if you’re looking for more sources, then here are a few ways to find them.

1) Google

Yes, Googling is always the simplest answer! You’ll find a huge number of results for any kind of PLR pack (try searching “your niche” + PLR), but it’s important to check out the pages and the sellers before you buy. You want to make sure they’re up to your standards.

2) Ask For Referrals

The best way to find a decent service or product provider is always to ask people you know for a referral! So ask your business friends who they use for PLR, and you’ll often find great high quality sources. (Note: You may want to ask those outside your niche, so you won’t end up using the same content as your biggest competitor).

3) Put Up An Ad

Put up an ad on a site like The Warrior Forum or other online business forums to which you belong. State what you’re looking for, including niche and price range, and get ready for the responses.

Recommended Resources

I do have a few PLR sellers who I’ve bought from and really recommend you use if you don’t want to go out searching for high quality PLR.

PLR comes in a lot of different forms. On the one hand, you can get cheap PLR that costs mere …

PLR comes in a lot of different forms. On the one hand, you can get cheap PLR that costs mere cents per page (although it usually isn’t worth much to begin with!) On the other hand, PLR can make high quality ghostwriters accessible to those on even the most limited budgets. Sometimes, however, it can be hard to know which is which!

Here are a few things to look out for when searching for high quality PLR content:

1) Professionally Written PLR

The first thing you should always look for is content that’s written by professional writers. At the very least, they should be fluent in English and have proven experience writing for the web. Web content writing is a specific skill in itself – people who read online want easy-to-read, conversational articles rather than long passages of text.

2) Reputation Of The PLR Seller

Does the PLR seller have a good reputation? If you’ve been recommended by word of mouth then that’s a great sign. If, however, a PLR seller is known to sell junk then you can usually find out if you do a little searching around before you spend your money. This is important to do – buy from some PLR sellers and you could get yourself into trouble with copyright issues or inaccurate content.

3) Added Extras

Does the PLR seller add anything else to the content that you need? For example, you may be looking for eBooks or reports that come with sales pages or graphics already included. Or you could save time by choosing PLR that’s already been optimised for highly searched keywords.

4) Niches Relevant To You

Some PLR sites lock you into a membership, only to deliver PLR on random topics month after month. Think twice before joining this kind of PLR site. After all, will you really be able to put it to use, no matter how high quality it may be? Instead, consider joining targeted membership sites or shopping with PLR sellers who let you pick and choose your niches.

Today I’m going to write a little about the kind of things you can use PLR content for, in follow up to my introduction, “who should use PLR” and the benefits of using PLR blog posts.

The truth is that PLR content has been used by just about every kind of business owner, both on the internet and off. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

1) Blog Posts

I’d say this is the most common reason why my customers buy PLR packs – to use them as a starting point for content on their blogs. They either post them as-is, using the keywords I’ve provided, or they use them for ideas and personalize them a little to help improve the results. Even longer pieces, such as PLR eBooks, can be broken down into small chunks to be used as blog posts.

2) Autoresponder Emails

This is one of my favorite uses of PLR because it means you don’t have to worry about it being “unique” in the eyes of the search engines! Why? Because you’re not posting it publicly, you’re sending it through email instead. It’s a great way to put together a series of emails that work towards promoting a product, or creating an eCourse as an incentive for people to sign up to your email list.

3) Videos and Podcasts

These are slightly less common uses of PLR content but very good ideas as, again, you don’t need to worry about unique content. Record yourself reading information from the article, or create a powerpoint presentation to upload to YouTube. Or simply use the articles you’ve bought to come up with fresh and well-researched topic for your podcast!

4) Reports and eBooks

If you buy PLR article packs, you can combine a few articles into one to create a report. You can either sell the report as an info product, or give it away as an incentive to build your email list. You can also even buy ready-made reports and eBooks that come with sales pages and graphics included.

5) Speeches

If you need to make a speech then it isn’t always easy to know what to say! PLR content can be fantastic for this, simply personalize it or use specific examples from the PLR to add to an existing speech.

6) Membership Sites

Content is vital for a successful membership site. If you want a head start then well-written and researched PLR is the way to go. It’ll mean you have plenty to offer your members as soon as you launch your new membership site.

These are really just a small number of ways in which you can use PLR content – for more then you can check out my free PLR success guide when you sign up to become a Free Net PLR VIP.

Next week I’ll be talking a little about the kinds of things you should look for when buying your PLR content. Click here to subscribe so you don’t miss any updates.

Welcome to the third post in my PLR essentials series (you can read the introduction here, or “who should use PLR” here). Today I’m going to talk some more about the benefits of using PLR – and there are many! Most business owners are looking to save either time, money or both – and the truth is that PLR can help you to achieve that.

Here are a few of the main benefits of using PLR content for your business:

1) Get Content Ideas/ A Starting Point

When you buy PLR, you can save a lot of time by using it as a starting point. This could be useful for people who find it hard to come up with ideas, but even if not it’ll still save you time when it comes to putting that idea into an organized article or product. To save the most time you can simply publish the PLR content as-is, though you can help to personalize it and draw your customers in by spending a little time to rework it. This is far easier and faster than starting from scratch, and will save you a huge amount of money as a result.

2) Start Making Money Faster

When you save time, you’ll be saving money. The time saved on putting together the content for your projects can be spent on other aspects of your business, meaning you can move ahead a lot quicker, and even put together a product almost instantly to start making sales.

3) Save Money On Outsourcing

Outsourcing is one of the keys to building a successful business online, to help you get more done with the limited hours there are in the day. However, we don’t all want to pay out hundreds of dollars for a pack of articles from a ghostwriter. If this sounds like you then PLR is a fantastic alternative. The PLR seller can afford to sell it extremely cheap because they sell it in bulk, so you’ll save huge amounts of money compared to hiring someone.

4) Build Multiple Revenue Streams

When you’re running your own business, it’s always important to build a number of different revenue streams to protect the future of your business if one should start doing badly. Most people don’t have enough hours in the day to delve into new fields, such as launching a new podcast or starting to sell eBooks when they already have so much else on their plate. With PLR this is actually possible – you can launch a number of revenue streams in no time at all!

5) Position Yourself As An Expert

When you buy PLR, you’re buying high-quality, well-researched content that’ll show your readers that you know what you’re talking about. Low quality content that doesn’t answer their questions will always lead to them finding other sources of information, so positioning yourself as an expert from the beginning is the best way to build a secure following.

Next week I’ll be writing about the many different uses of PLR, so look out for the blog post! Click here to subscribe so you don’t miss any updates.

On first glance, you may think that PLR is only designed for big businesses, or those in specific niches. But the truth is that PLR comes in all different niches, to suit all kinds of business. As long as you have a business which means you regularly require some sort of content, PLR can save you time and money.

Even here on Net PLR, which is a relatively small PLR site, I have articles in the following categories:

Baby,

Green Living,

Health,

Email Autoresponders,

Personal Development,

Online Business,

Technology,

Product Reviews,

Holidays,

And more!

And I am just one PLR provider on the internet, which is full of many more high quality sites (I’ll recommend some to you in a future post).

PLR is even great for taking content from one niche and adapting it to another. It’s a useful way of coming up with content ideas and examples to suit a huge range of markets.

Who Should Consider Buying PLR Content?

So, that being said, there are many people who can benefit from buying and using PLR content:

Online business owners who want to buy content to save time while they work at a day job,

Bloggers who have a hard time coming up with new content,

Business owners who want to save time but still put out quality content,

Anyone who feels they have too much to do but can’t afford outsourcing to a ghostwriter,

Anyone who wants to set up a new website, blog, product, newsletter etc. in a specific niche and wants a good content base fast.

And don’t think that the use of PLR is limited to those who run a business online. To the contrary, many offline businesses can also benefit from pre-written content including:

Accountants,

Lawyers,

Hairstylists,

Administrative businesses,

Coaching businesses,

Financial services,

Magazines,

Membership programs,

And more!

As you can see, PLR has so many uses it’s almost impossible to list them all. There is a PLR pack to suit you and your business – perhaps it’s time to start delving deeper and find out more about this useful tool!

Stay tuned for next week’s blog post where I’ll be writing more about the benefits of using PLR. Click here to subscribe so you don’t miss any updates.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted much at the Net PLR blog, so I thought I’d start a weekly series on what PLR really is, to help you get started and use it to your advantage! Subscribe to the blog if you want to keep track of the new posts every Wednesday.

An Introduction To PLR Content

The truth is that entrepreneurs and online business owners can always take advantage of anything that will help them run their business more smoothly, and take certain tasks off their hands. One of the things that can take up the biggest chunk of time is coming up with quality, informative and interesting content for your websites and newsletters. Thankfully PLR can make this task a whole lot easier.

PLR articles are written by professional writers, and sold to multiple customers at a low price. You’ll get different rights with different types of PLR, but you can generally put your name on the content as the author and use it in a variety of ways, such as eBooks, blog posts, email series and more.

Using PLR the right way can save you hundreds of dollars – but use it the wrong way and you’ll simply be wasting your time. This is what this series is all about: teaching you how to properly utilize PLR.

The Basics Behind PLR

As mentioned above, PLR articles can be a huge shortcut in the world of internet marketing. The articles are already written for you, and the PLR seller will sell them to a number of buyers.

The downside is that others will have the same content as you (though I’ll show you many ways to stand apart from everyone else in a later blog post), but the major benefit is the fact that you can secure articles for as low as $1 each! And, when you use the PLR, you don’t even have to credit the original author, and you can edit it however you like!

“Is PLR Really Legal?” Yes! As long as the content creator has expressly chosen to sell it as PLR, you’re allowed to use it according to the PLR rights they give you. Typically this means you can edit it, put your name on it etc., but not sell it on as PLR to others.

You can get PLR content written in a huge number of niches, from home business, to green living, dog training, health and more! You can pick and choose whatever PLR content is relevant to you and use it on your websites, blogs, downloadable products, newsletters, videos, podcasts and so on.

Can You really Make Money With PLR?

One of the main questions most people have is whether they can really make money with this type of content if other people have bought the exact same articles. The answer is a huge YES!

But to make the most of PLR you should consider editing it to include your own voice and point of view – it’ll help you stand out above the rest (more about this in a later post).

So now you know, that PLR is legal, PLR is easy to use, it’s cost effective, it really works, but it may take some time to make it unique for you!

In my blog post next week I’ll talk about the kinds of people who can benefit from using PLR articles in their business. Subscribe to the blog to stay on top of updates!

Happy Birthday Net PLR!

It was a year ago yesterday, on February 24th 2010, when I sent out the email to my first subscribers letting them know Net PLR was officially open for business!

I just wanted to write this blog post to thank all my customers for helping to make my new business venture a success. I love writing on such a variety of topics, and I’ve learnt so much along the way!

Net PLR started as a very small site, but it’s slowly and surely building up into a bigger resource for PLR. I have many plans for the future, now that I’ve launched my PLR affiliate program, including a number of freebies to help you get the most out of your PLR.

Thanks again for your support!
